JAK WYGLĄDA PRACA JURY?
Każdego obserwatora Konkursu na pewno ciekawi, co ma miejsce za drzwiami sali, w której ważą się losy uczestników Konkursu. W tym newsletterze streścimy, jakie zasady obowiązują jury i w jaki sposób przebiega ocena młodych skrzypków.
Członkowie jury obradują cztery razy. Ich pierwsze posiedzenie odbyło się w dniu inauguracji Konkursu. Kolejne zaczynają się zaraz po tym, gdy wybrzmi ostatnia nuta pierwszego, drugiego lub trzeciego etapu Konkursu. Może się zdarzyć, że Przewodniczący Jury lub Dyrektor Konkursu postanowią, że jurorzy spotkają się więcej razy.
W jaki sposób jury podejmuje decyzję o tym, którzy uczestnicy zostaną zakwalifikowani do kolejnego etapu? Wbrew pozorom to niekoniecznie zażarte dyskusje. Głosowanie przebiega w przejrzysty sposób, poprzez punktowanie uczestników i obliczanie średniej arytmetycznej ocen. Każdy z 31 skrzypków, prezentujących się na estradzie w pierwszym etapie został oceniony przez 11 jurorów w skali od 10 do 25 punktów. W drugim etapie oceniana jest oddzielnie: część przesłuchań z fortepianem i z orkiestrą kameralną, a w trzecim – każdy z koncertów. O zwycięstwie będą decydować oceny wszystkich etapów. O tym, kto przejdzie do trzeciego etapu dowiemy się już w najbliższą niedzielę, zaś zwycięzcę poznamy w nocy z 20. na 21. października.
Co ważne, regulamin Konkursu określa też, w jakiej sytuacji juror nie bierze udziału w ocenie uczestnika. Dzieje się tak wtedy, gdy jest z nim z bliskiej relacji, a także jeśli jest jego nauczycielem, był nim w ostatnich trzech latach lub będzie nim w najbliższym roku.

W drugiej części II etapu uczestnicy wykonają Sinfonię Concertante Es-dur, KV 364 Wolfganga Amadeusa Mozarta razem z Orkiestrą Kameralną Polskiego Radia Amadeus pod dyrekcją Anny Duczmal-Mróz i altowiolistami: Michałem Bryłą, Katarzyną Budnik i Ryszardem Groblewskim.

WHAT THE WORK OF THE JURY LOOKS LIKE
Any observer of the Competition is sure to be curious about what takes place behind the doors of the room where the fate of the competition participants is decided. In this newsletter, we summarize what rules apply to the jury and how the evaluation of young violinists is carried out.
Jury members deliberate four times. Their first meeting was held on the opening day of the Competition. Subsequent ones begin as soon as the last note of the first, second or third stage of the Competition has sounded. Unless, the Chairman of the Jury or the Director of The Competition decide that extra meetings are necessary.
How does the jury decide which participants will qualify for the next stage? Contrary to what it may appear, these are not necessarily heated discussions. Voting is carried out in a transparent manner, by judging the participants and calculating the arithmetic average of the scores. Each of the 31 violinists who take to the stage in the first round was adjudicated by 11 jurors on the scale of 10 through 25 points. In stage 2, the piano and chamber orchestra parts are evaluated separately, as are the concertos in stage 3. The aggregate score of all stages will determine the winner. We will find out who advances to stage 3 this Sunday, while the winner will be announced on the night of 20th October.
The Rules and Regulations of the Competition contain one important reservation. Namely, if a juror has a close relationship with a participant, and if he or she is the participant's teacher, has been one in the last three years or will be one in the coming year, the juror does not evaluate the participant.
