3, 2, 1... zaczynamy!
To już dziś! Rozpoczynamy 16. Międzynarodowy Konkurs Skrzypcowy im. Henryka Wieniawskiego. Przed nami dwa tygodnie niezapomnianych muzycznych wrażeń. Do Poznania przyjechali młodzi skrzypkowie z 12 krajów Europy, Azji i Ameryki Północnej. Od jutra będą prezentować się przed jurorami i publicznością zgromadzoną w Auli Uniwersyteckiej oraz przed ekranami.
Na dobry początek
O 19:00 podczas Koncertu Inauguracyjnego wystąpi Veriko Tchumburidze, laureatka I nagrody 15. MSK im. H. Wieniawskiego. Koncert będzie transmitowany na antenach Programu 2 Polskiego Radia i TVP Kultura, a także na YouTube Wieniawski Society. Dzień później, 8. października, Orkiestra Filharmonii Narodowej pod batutą Andrzeja Boreyko z Veriko Tchumburidze wystąpi w Filharmonii Narodowej w Warszawie. Podczas obu koncertów usłyszymy premierowe wykonania utworu „Nova" ukraińskiej kompozytorki Viktorii Polevej, który zadedykowała odwadze swoich rodaków. Dzisiejszego wieczoru zabrzmi także Koncert skrzypcowy a-moll op. 53 A. Dvořáka oraz Symfonię e-moll „Odrodzenie" op. 7 M. Karłowicza.
Jest mi bardzo miło, że mogę być z potworem w Poznaniu. (...) Pamiętam doskonale pierwszy dzień, kiedy występowałam na konkursie. Nawet teraz, kiedy o tym mówię, czuję swego rodzaju podekscytowanie – mówiła skrzypaczka podczas dzisiejszego losowania kolejności występów uczestników. – Doskonale zdaję sobie sprawę, że jest to konkurs – czas wypełniony stresem i jednocześnie podekscytowaniem. Tak czy owak cieszcie się swoimi występami, cieszcie się swoją muzyką – skierowała słowa do uczestników tegorocznego Konkursu.
Kto jako pierwszy zaprezentuje się przed jury i publicznością?
Odpowiedź na to pytanie otrzymaliśmy dzisiaj o 15:00. Dowiedzieliśmy się, w jakiej kolejności wystąpią uczestnicy w pierwszym etapie Konkursu. Z powodu przedłużającego się powrotu do zdrowia wywołanego long COVID Henning Kraggerud podjął trudną decyzję o rezygnacji z członkostwa w jury 16. Międzynarodowego Konkursu Skrzypcowego im. Henryka Wieniawskiego. Henning Kraggerud wyraża głęboki żal z powodu konieczności wycofania się z zasiadania w jury Konkursu, jednego z najważniejszych wydarzeń skrzypcowych na świecie.

Co, gdzie, kiedy?
Konkurs jest podzielony na III etapy. Podczas pierwszego z nich usłyszymy solowe występy uczestników lub z akompaniamentem fortepianu. W pierwszej części drugiego etapu również będzie im towarzyszył fortepian, a w drugiej – Orkiestra Kameralna Polskiego Radia Amadeus oraz altowioliści. Na finał wybrzmią koncerty w wykonaniu finalistów i Orkiestry Filharmonii Poznańskiej pod dyrekcją Łukasza Borowicza.

Dowodem tego są laureaci poprzednich edycji, tacy jak Wanda Wiłkomirska, Dawid i Igor Ojstrach, Agata Szymczewska, Soyoung Yoon, Bartłomiej Nizioł, Piotr Pławner czy Bomsori Kim. Pula nagród w Konkursie wynosi 115 tysięcy euro. Zwycięzca otrzyma 50 tysięcy euro. Na laureatów czeka też szereg nagród pozaregulaminowych i specjalnych.

Young violinists from 12 countries in Europe, Asia and North America have come to Poznan. Starting tomorrow, they will perform in front of the jurors and the audience gathered in the University Auditorium and in front of their screens.
To get off to a good start
Veriko Tchumburidze, winner of the 1st prize of the 15th H. Wieniawski International Violin Competition, will perform at 7:00 pm during the Opening Concert. The concert will be broadcast on Polish Radio 2 and TVP Kultura, as well as on the @WieniawskiSociety channel on YouTube. A day later, on October 8, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andrzej Boreyko with Veriko Tchumburidze will perform at the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw. Both concerts will feature premiere performances of the work "Nova" by Ukrainian composer Viktoria Poleva, which she dedicated to the courage of her compatriots. Tonight's concert will also feature A. Dvořák's Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 53. and the Symphony in E minor "Rebirth," Op. 7 by M. Karłowicz.

The jury of the 16th Henryk Wieniawski MKS will include eleven personalities associated with the international music scene - not only renowned pedagogues and violinists, but also a cellist, music impresario and film producer. Such a diverse group will make it possible to evaluate the participants in terms of both their technical and stage prowess. The jury will be headed by French violinist and conductor Augustin Dumay, and in the role of vice-president we will see Daniel Stabrawa, for many years associated with the famous Berlin Philharmonic. Also invited to join the jury are Poland's most famous female conductor, Agnieszka Duczmal; and the winner of the 10th Wieniawski Competition, Bartłomiej Nizioł; French-Swiss musician and pedagogue, Miguel da Silva; theater and film producer, René Koering; music impresario and cultural animator, Grzegorz Kotów; Hungarian violinist and conductor, Barnabas Kelemen; Polish musician, Mariusz Patyra; Chinese cellist, Jian Wang; and artistic director and chief conductor of the London Chamber Orchestra, Christopher Warren Green.
Due to a prolonged recovery caused by long COVID, Henning Kraggerud has made the difficult decision to resign from the jury of the 16th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition.
